I create wood pieces from mostly reclaimed and rescued wood. My art centers on woodturning. Unique wood bowls, boxes and cutting boards are enhanced with dyed epoxy, stone inlay and laser engraving.

Rescued and reclaimed wood pieces
My favorite wood is called FOG wood. (Found On Ground). Woodpiles, neighbors fallen trees, and a field by a country road provide ample material. I mill and dry the wood myself and try to bring out the most interesting features of the wood. Each piece has a story.
My Shop
The wood I choose to work with often has natural defects. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. I look at defects as design opportunities to subtly include live edge, epoxy and inlayed material.
When I do purchase exotic lumber I favor creating segmented pieces where the exotic wood accentuates a larger field of more common hardwood.
